According to the American Publishers Association, in 2022 53% of those surveyed listened to an audiobook, and sales of audiobooks grew 10% in 2022 generating approximately US$1.8 billion in sales. In the same year print book sales dropped 6.5%.

Statistics for the 2023 year so far, reveal that ebooks account for 34% of book sales.
